SEL Focus: Responsible Decision-Making, Risk Awareness, Consequences
Ninja Adventure Games – Spring brings movement and structured risk play into schools through parkour-inspired games and challenges. Students engage in jumping, balancing, and cooperative missions that help them practice making responsible choices in real time.
Through guided play, students learn how to pause before acting, assess risk, understand consequences, and choose safe options - all while staying active and having fun. Challenges are designed with multiple levels so students can start small, build confidence, and progress at their own pace.
Each session ends with reflection and kudos, helping students connect their movement choices to decision-making skills they can use in the classroom and beyond.
Responsible Decision-Making
Students practice simple decision-making processes such as Stop - Think - Choose and STAR (Stop - Think - Act - Reflect). They learn that good decisions come from pausing, thinking ahead, and making intentional choices.
Understanding Consequences
Students explore the idea that every choice has a result. Through movement challenges, they experience how decisions affect outcomes for themselves and others - without labeling consequences as “good” or “bad.”
Mindful Risk & Self-Awareness
Students learn to recognize the difference between risk, hazards, and mindful risk. They practice checking in with their bodies and emotions to decide what feels safe and appropriate for them in the moment.
Parkour-Inspired Movement Challenges
Activities like precision jumps, vaults, balance paths, and rolls help students practice control, awareness, and safe movement while navigating obstacles.
Start Small Progression Games
Students choose how to scale challenges by going lower, slower, closer, or softer. This builds confidence while reinforcing thoughtful decision-making.
Team Missions and Build Challenges
Cooperative games and student-built obstacle stations encourage communication, planning, and shared responsibility as teams work toward common goals.
